Speed and make-work

And then *poof* it's all gone. Up and down in a flash.

All the pretty pictures have disappeared, but they were nice enough to give this old guy a glowy stick and a uniform and put him in charge of protecting passers-by from tripping on the neatly-stacked debris. He'd only be wandering the streets looking for other public services to perform if they didn't, bless 'im.

These things are important

When construction takes place in the West, ugly scarring of our oh-so-beautiful urban landscape can usually be seen. Not so in Japan! No, they conceal such work behind pristine boarding, then go one step further and decorate the boarding with images of scenic landscapes and pretty flowers.

The facade is marred only briefly to allow the passage of the minions involved.

As is knowing who's in charge

Hierarchical charts of everyone working on-site also on display!

In the Money

Here I am outside the post office with my second million! Japan is not just fun, it's profitable too.

Just for clarification, this is what a brick of cash looks like. I've handled wads like this before, but that was in places like Vietnam and Laos, where in the West it would get you a franchise coffee with a silly name and change for a biscuit.

Oh yeah, the ATMs are great by the way: Ways to pay money transfers, bills and rent AND cartoons of smiley ginkouin bowing and thanking you for your custom can all be found herein.
