Proof that I can sleep six in my cavernous mansion!
Great people, all met through Couchsurfing.com.
I hear people in more popular locations get overwhelmed by emails, but I enjoy playing host to visitors every month or so in remote Hakodate.
Disclaimer: 'mansion' in Japanese means 'apartment that won't fall over in a stiff breeze' and not 'palatial residence'. Cavernous was just a bit of harmless hyperbole.

Couchsurfing, eh? Site looks interesting - didn't check fully, but I don't suppose its anything to do with the Bran Van song from a year earlier?
Anyway, will have to have a good look through the site; sounds like an interesting, if slightly scary, idea. :D
It is cool, and very safe, believe it or not. I even gave them an entirely voluntary $25, that's how much I like the idea.
Nothing to do with Bran Van, sorry to say (a year earlier? You mean about 7 years, right?)
I meant the song - debut album Glee came out in 1998, and judging by the thingy at the bottom, the Couch Surfing site started in 1999.
I'd find it risky, but then I have yet to reach Ben-levels of chilled-out-dudiness. :D
