My loot

An impressive haul last weekend, the likes of which has never been seen collected in one place before, but displayed here for your viewing pleasure!
Finally, a Japlish T-shirt of my own! My favourite bit is the 'serial number No...................' on the label.
More sake than you could shake a dozen sticks at, mostly consumed and discarded, these two kept for posterity.
Candied crabs and squid strips, the perfect accompaniment for sake consumption.
A fine strawberry hat, for those ichigo moments in life.
A PMX-001 PALACE-ATHENE, complete with "Mega Beam Cannon, Double Beam Gun, Diffusion Beam Cannon, Beam Saber etc. [sic]" in a dynamic pose.
A long-overdue manbag, with all the brand labels recently picked/filed/cut off, to replace the carrier bags I usually tote my junk around with.
Yay! A rare delicacy on this side of the world.
Last but not least, cuter-than-cute cards, a handkerchief (which as Andre pointed out is quite handy given the lack of towels, soap, or just about anything else in most public/restaurant toilets) and a killer hangover which still lingers a good 30 hours after I stopped drinking (60 hours since the session began!).

*drool* mega beam cannon.

Happy Birthday (was it on the 4th, I seem to remember something about that being the day). Makes me feel better that there are more of us becoming 26.

When are they due to fingerprint all foreigners where you are? Overhere I think they are deliberating what biometric information to put on national ID cards.....(if the bill gets through the Lords)

The 10th, but the celebration mostly spanned the 8th and 9th this year =)

No shit re: fingerprinting. Believe it or not, if they'd been doing that when I was making my decision where to go I wouldn't have chosen Japan!

As for national ID, I signed up for this http://www.pledgebank.com/refuse along with 10,000+ other people, and they are still going, with other pledges, if you're interested.

Whoa, happy birthday dude!

That is one totally awesome tiny ginat robot! But WTF is up with candied crabs *shudder*

Ah, incredibly creased t-shirts - just like my old floor at uni. Though mine lacked the awesome japlish.

Very funky robot thing too (I feel the need for a Jamesian 'rad!'); do you normally buy those robot-model kit things, or was the mega beam cannon just too phallic to pass up? :D

I recently hit 25, so I'm glad there are still people on the planet older than me. Quite a few, it would appear...

Thanks guys, and no, I don't usually buy plastic robot things. Never even seen an episode of Gundam. It was a joke gift from Erin, and I find it highly amusing that it's attracting the most respect from the old crowd at home!

I'll have to add a set of mecha to the list of Japanese stuff due to be sent back to Blighty, if and when I ever go shopping...

(actually, nearly everything appears to have been bought for amusement value or consumption, and the one substantial item is of great utility, which just goes to show that people over here already know my tastes well when it comes to gifts!)
