Perhaps the finest pair to ever grace my table, courtesy of an ultra-cute student and her talent for spotting outstanding items.
Random comment: I'll probably never buy another DVD unless things change for the better. The frustration caused by being unable to even play the copy-protected paid-for-in-full DVD of Willow on my computer is nicely mirrored by the ease of acquiring and playing the movie for free off the internet. I could buy DVDs, leave them in the wrapping and download something I could certainly watch, but that seems kind of daft.
Grr.

Most of my disposable income these days goes on DVDs; can't get enough of those extras, in particular commentaries. Downloading is great for stuff I can't get legally (Mysterious Cities of Gold, for example), but the majority of films I want to see are now available. On top of that, there are some producers of DVDs I'm especially keen to support, in particular Hong Kong Legends (martial arts stuff, for anyone not familiar with them), and FightDVD (branch of silvervision). The financial side of things is one part of it; the other is that I want them to continue providing me with these DVDs. Old UFCs, for example, don't have quite so much demand, so downloading seems self-defeating for me in that instance.
Main reason I don't download now, however, is that my compy at uni got seriously screwed in the arse by viruses. Bleh.
